A rare Claude Lalanne dining suite heads to auction this month, with estimates placing its sale price at up to $1.4 million. Demand for Lalanne’s work has surged in recent years, driven by collectors drawn to her surreal, nature-infused aesthetic.

Pace is entangled in a $1 million lawsuit concerning a Louise Nevelson sculpture.

Pace Gallery faces a $1 million lawsuit from the Beloff estate, which claims the gallery’s founder, Arne Glimcher, derailed the auction of a Louise Nevelson sculpture at Sotheby’s by suddenly declaring it inauthentic—decades after having appraised it himself. The plaintiffs of the dispute have accused Glimcher of manipulating attribution standards to protect Pace’s influence over Nevelson’s market. The court allowed one key claim to proceed: that Pace interfered with the Sotheby’s sale by threatening to exclude the work from the auction’s catalogue raisonné.

Drawing on opal doublets, plique-à-jour enamel, and whimsical silhouettes, the collection revels in drama and delight.
