Philippe Petit Performs at the 70th Anniversary of Philip Johnson's Glass House

On June 8, guests gathered in New Canaan, CT, to celebrate the 70th birthday of Philip Johnson's Glass House. The anniversary entailed a dynamic roster of festivities, including an aerial surprise by Philippe Petit, famed for tightrope walking between the Twin Towers of the former World Trade Center in 1974. Guests also enjoyed a routine by Harlem-based drumlins and dancelike crew The Marching Cobras, perused the gallery's latest exhibition, "Gay Gatherings: Philip Johnson, David Whitney, and the modern arts," and participated in a benefit auction powered by Paddle8. Guests included Stephanie Goto, Nick & Rachel Cope, and Michele Oka Doner, among others. Photos by Angela Pham/BFA.
