We Buy Gold Takes Over Jack Shainman and Nicola Vassell Galleries

On June 29, We Buy Gold, the roving art space founded by Joeonna Bellorado-Samuels, celebrated the opening of “Seven” across Jack Shainman and Nicola Vassell galleries in New York. The exhibition features 10 artists—among them Abigail Lucien, David Hammons, and Kerry James Marshall—and explores how the practices of each disrupt space, time, and language. The opening festivities, which spanned the two Chelsea galleries and the Broken Shaker cocktail bar at the Freehand Hotel, certainly seemed to blur space and time together on a celebratory open night attended by the gallerists, artists, and a swath of industry friends.
