Design Dialogue No. 16

On March 6th, Surface hosted the 16th edition of our Design Dialogues series in partnership with The Armory Show and Hôtel Americano. Legendary French conceptual artist Daniel Buren and contemporary African-American visual artist and photographer Hank Willis Thomas, who both had works installed at the fair, joined editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey to talk about the use of color, the role of photography in a digital world, and how pre-existing languages and logos can be used to say something new.
