Storefront for Art & Architecture Toasts 40 Years

On Sept. 19, Storefront for Art & Architecture brought together the New York design cognoscenti for its 40th Anniversary Benefit at the Angel Orensanz Foundation. Celebrating four decades of the Manhattan venue’s pivotal role as a platform to plumb the intersection of art and architecture in public life, the occasion kicked off with a performance by board member Christian Nyampeta before guests were seated for dinner, Casa Dragones tequila in tow. The ceremony honored artist Julie Mehretu, former Storefront director Sarah Herda, and architect Frida Escobedo, who have each dedicated their practices to deepening how we perceive space. Notable attendees include Deborah Berke, Stephen Burks, Elizabeth Diller, Dasha Zhukova, and Gregg Pasquarelli.
