Surface Celebrates the Art of Fusion with Hublot

The cocktail event in New York City was the last “stop” for the touring exhibition.

Surface Media CEO Marc Lotenberg with Lil Buck and Surface editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, Surface celebrated the Art of Fusion with innovative timepiece brand Hublot. The “Art of Fusion” is the essential element at Hublot, which pairs the technical excellence of traditional Swiss watchmaking with avant-garde sensibilities. This philosophy has allowed Hublot to introduce numerous groundbreaking materials and technology, many of which were on display at the event. The celebration with Surface marked the grand finale of the “Art of Fusion” exhibition, which had been “on tour” throughout the fall.

Entertainment came from Renata do Valle, who served as the evening’s DJ,  as well as special performances by the movement artist Lil Buck and violinist Ezi; guests enjoyed speciality cocktails and canapés. Each of these elements were curated to highlight the “art of fusion” between experience and design.

Several free standing totems and a striking three-wall display were installed at the venue, highlighting the history of Hublot and its products. Multiple vitrines showcased the company’s striking horological wares, such as the innovative Hublot Big Bang Unico Sapphire wristwatch (showing off its imaginative use of transparent sapphire crystal) and ultramodern masterpieces from the MP Collection.

Guests in attendance included Erica Bernhard, Chris Benz, Oliwia Biela, Simon Castets, Alicia Quarles, and Klitos Teklos.
