Burberry is doubling down on a classic with its newest bag collection, DK88. Inside the British label, the alphanumeric code refers to its storied trench-coat fabric. Just like the honey-colored waterproof twill patented by Thomas Burberry in 1888, the bag’s Trench Leather is proprietary to the brand. In homage, the line of customizable top-handle satchels are treated to appear with a subtle diagonal striation, mimicking the coat’s gabardine material. If its origins are any indication, the DK88 is another Burberry icon in the making.
