Boardroom-to-beach menswear is now a reality, in the form of a three-piece, Savile Row-style number. Aptly dubbed the Swim Suit, it owes its existence to a collaboration between British swimwear label Orlebar Brown and Land Rover’s chief design officer, Gerry McGovern. To be released this spring, the full capsule collection, which includes two additional looks, celebrates the main aspects of McGovern’s persona: the businessman, the creative, and the athlete. Accompanying the Swim Suit is a painting-inspired look that features abstract bands of color evoking an ocean view, and an army-green fitness ensemble that is cut for agility. Since launching in 2007, Orlebar Brown has aimed to provide classier alternatives to baggy board shorts. McGovern, the man who clinched the deal to make the Land Rover James Bond’s car of choice in 2015’s Spectre, makes for an appropriately suave supporter.
