Inside Prada Mode’s Star-Studded Cultural Convergence at the Hotel Chelsea

Prior to Prada’s celebrity speckled Katz’s Delicatessen takeover—with DJ sets from Grandmaster Flash, Justin Strauss, and Papi Juice—the Italian fashion house kicked off the fourteenth edition of Prada Mode, its itinerant private club, throughout two floors of the Hotel Chelsea. An opening night cocktail hour followed the first day of cultural programming, hosted alongside “Satellites,” a new iteration of the exhibition Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn and Japanese game creator Hideo Kojima first staged at Prada Aoyama Tokyo last summer. Throughout the art-inflected spectacle—complete with lavish signature cocktails, fries, and performances by The Velveteers and Precious Renee Tucker—a custom Prada Mode Channel, made with Mikael Bertelsen, ran talk shows and horoscopes, while Prada vending machines distributed gifts to VIP guests.
